Step 1: Preparation
1. Power on the Smart Doorbell:
- Connect the doorbell to a power source using the provided power adapter or batteries.
- Ensure the doorbell is in pairing mode. Most smart doorbells have a flashing LED indicator when they are ready to pair. If not, press and hold the reset button for a few seconds until the LED starts blinking.
2. Download the Smart Life App:
- Go to the App Store (iOS) or Google Play Store (Android).
- Download and install the Smart Life app on your smartphone.
- Create an account or log in if you already have one.
Step 2: Pairing the Smart Doorbell
1. Open the Smart Life App:
- Launch the app and tap “Add Device” or the “+” icon at the top right corner of the screen.
2. Search for the Device:
- In the device list, select “Security & Sensor” and then “Smart Doorbell”.
3. Connect to Wi-Fi:
- Make sure you are connected to a 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network (the smart doorbell does not support 5 GHz).
- Enter your Wi-Fi password when prompted in the app.
4. Put the Doorbell in Pairing Mode:
- If not already in pairing mode, follow the instructions in the app to activate pairing mode (usually involves pressing and holding a button on the doorbell until the LED flashes).
5. Scan the QR Code:
- The app will generate a QR code on your phone’s screen.
- Hold your phone in front of the doorbell camera so it can scan the QR code. The doorbell should give a voice prompt indicating a successful scan.
6. Complete the Pairing:
- Tap “I heard a prompt” in the app after hearing the confirmation from the doorbell.
- Wait for the pairing process to complete. The app will notify you once the doorbell is successfully connected.
- Tap “Done” to finalize the setup.
Step 3: Configure the Smart Doorbell Settings
1. Customize the Settings:
- Open the doorbell’s interface in the Smart Life app.
- Adjust settings such as motion detection sensitivity, notification preferences, and video quality.
2. Test the Doorbell:
- Press the doorbell button to ensure that notifications are sent to your phone.
- Check the live video feed to make sure the camera is working correctly.
Troubleshooting Tips
- If the doorbell fails to pair, reset the device and try the pairing process again.
- Ensure your Wi-Fi network is stable and within range of the doorbell.
- Make sure your phone’s Wi-Fi is set to 2.4 GHz, not 5 GHz.
Now, your smart doorbell is successfully paired with the Smart Life app, allowing you to monitor and interact with visitors remotely.
